An evening in the Emerald Room
Delphine restored the plasterwork in this building for two years before she ever met Auguste, who was hired to rewire it. They argued about a cornice for most of a summer. The cornice is still there, and so are they. Marrying in the room she spent nine months of her life on feels like the only ending that makes sense.
Place-d'Armes station is a six-minute walk. Room block under "Ellsworth" at the Hotel Nelligan and the Saint-Sulpice, both within three blocks. Winter evenings here are genuinely cold — there is a full coat check at the Brass Foyer.
